What I was getting at was this...If guns are allowed in bars, the chance of someone drinking and packing and using the gun becomes greater. That is all.Even though it is illegal to consume alcohol while carrying a concealed weapon? If the law and it's penalty is an insufficient deterrent to keep people from consuming alcohol while carrying a weapon, why would you ever think that a law preventing people from carrying weapons in a restaurant that serves alcohol altogether would be any better?
If your argument is that people are going to break the law anyway, then why are you concerned about laws at all? How would any law be effective at preventing a certain behavior if as you suggest, people don't heed laws?
Following the same logic one could ask the question why gun-restrictions are necessary at all? Why background checks? Why can't criminals and mental cases purchase guns at their leisure? Why waiting periods? Why mandatory gun-safety courses? After all, shooting someone without sufficient reason is already illegal.
