there is a player piano in the bar to
set the mood.
The other benefit to this law would be
all those pesky bottles and cans could
serve a purpose.
The bummer would be the ear protection
makes it hard to pick up on chicks.

I think it would be OK as long as
there is a player piano in the bar to set the mood. The other benefit to this law would be all those pesky bottles and cans could serve a purpose. The bummer would be the ear protection makes it hard to pick up on chicks.

LOL!! You can't find www.usdoj.gov?LOL! I'm sure he can find it, but who wants to have to go to their browser and have to type in "w...w...w...dot...u...s...d...o...j...dot...g...o...v"? It's laborious. Yes, I know you can omit the "www" and just type in "u...s...d...o...j...dot...g...o...v" but that's no Sunday walk in the park, either. What about those poor lost souls who have to go all the way to the Google page, type in the key words and hit the "search" button all from scratch? The entire catalog of information known to mankind at our fingertips in an instant is not enough. We want to recline on our sides and have 72 virgins fan us, anoint our feet, and feed us the fruit of the tree of knowledge. |

Norsewulf wrote: The dissents of the court were well founded and called into question the logic of the majority. Your mention of stare decisis et non quieta movere shows an incomplete understanding of the term. Stare decisis means that lower courts must follow the precedents set by higher courts and they cannot overturn them. The USSC has no solid obligation to do that. If there is strong reason to do so, the USSC can overturn a previous courts decision and it's happened in the past. It's also historically true that stare decisis is considered less important in constitutional decisions. The idea is to get it right, not hold to a wrongheaded decision. When enough judges agree that the Scalia court erred in it's interpretation of the wording of the amendment, I think they will overturn it. You're entitled to your own opinion. I don't agree with you. |

You're entitled to your own opinion. Why thank you. That is generous of you. I don't agree with you.But the majority of justices on the Supreme Court do, as well as apparently the majority of legislators in 40 out of 50 of the states. We have all heard your argument and we find it to be lacking. |

Yeah, I know. I thought that was from the Republican play book, though. I guess an "activist" is just a judge who disagrees with whatever
political ideology the person using the term subscribes to.
